Thanksgiving Dinner Menu
Thanksgiving is almost here! I love prepping the Thanksgiving menu for our guests. Some people get so caught up in the “modern” way to fix Thanksgiving dinner that they forget about the rich traditional menu. I am a traditional gal and I will be making these dishes for my family this Thanksgiving season. There’s nothing wrong with modern and there’s nothing wrong with traditional, these are just some of my preferences.
Turkey- My mouth is watering right now, just thinking about having turkey at Thanksgiving. There’s something so delicious about a slow roasted turkey!
Stuffing- Although not all American households prefer stuffing at their Thanksgiving meal, we do. I love making a homemade stuffing dish. I change it up a little each year, but mostly it stays the same. Our family is one you will see eating stuffing at the Thanksgiving table every year.
Yams- This is another dish that not everyone loves, but we do. Making our yams with marshmallows on top has always been a favorite in our home. If you’ve never cooked yams in your household, I’d encourage you to try it this year.
Mashed Potatoes- On Thanksgiving, we go all out carbs wise. Thanksgiving is not complete without mashed potatoes. This is a feast for us, considering mashed potatoes are so starchy, we can’t always include this in our regular menu, so a treat it is.
Corn- This is our go to veggie for every holiday meal. It’s easy to make and the whole family loves it. There are no leftovers of corn on the holidays.
Pumpkin Pie- And last but not least, we love our pumpkin pie on Thanksgiving. There’s nothing our family enjoys more for dessert than a homemade pumpkin pie.
Whether you make a traditional menu or a modern menu, we still think you’re great. What are some of your go to dishes for Thanksgiving? I’d love to hear about them!
